WHO WE ARE

About Responders Inc

Responders Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening and supporting the Medicolegal Death Investigation profession. Through our Last Responder initiative, we advocate for coroners, medical examiners, death investigators, autopsy professionals, and other Medicolegal Death Professionals who serve their communities during some of life's most difficult moments.

We work to increase recognition, promote wellness and resilience, provide educational resources, and foster connection across the profession while helping the public better understand the vital role these professionals play in public safety, public health, and the justice system.

Partner With Us

Last Responder brings together Medicolegal Death Professionals from across the United States and beyond through education, advocacy, peer support, networking, and collaborative initiatives.

From promoting Medicolegal Death Professionals Week and increasing public awareness to supporting wellness programs, professional development, accreditation awareness, and industry partnerships, we are building a stronger and more connected future for the profession.

Because every community depends on Medicolegal Death Professionals - even if most people never realize it.

Medicolegal Death Professionals are often among the last people to care for an individual, yet they remain one of the least recognized professions in public service. Every year, millions of deaths across the United States require medicolegal investigation to determine cause and manner of death, identify public health threats, support criminal investigations, and provide answers to families.

Accurate death investigation protects communities, strengthens the justice system, advances public health, and ensures that every life is treated with dignity and respect.

Host A Training

For too long, Medicolegal Death Professionals have worked in the shadows despite playing a critical role in public safety, public health, and the justice system. Last Responder exists to change that.

Through advocacy, education, collaboration, and storytelling, we are helping ensure that coroners, medical examiners, death investigators, and autopsy professionals receive the recognition, support, and resources they deserve. Because visibility leads to understanding, understanding leads to support, and support strengthens the entire profession.
